Point to Point and Half Back
1. Point to Point: With the garment on a person or manequin, measure across the top of the shoulders from seam to seam.
2. Half Back: Measure across the back from where the sleeve seam meets the back panel, over to the center back seam. |
 |
Coat Length
3. Coat Length:: Measure the length starting from the center seam, under the collar (where the undercollar felt begins) down to the bottom of the jacket. Do not pull tightly on the coat, however you want to make sure that it is hanging straight. |
 |
Outsleeve
4. Outsleeve: With the garment on a person or mannequin measure from the top of the sleeve head, along the arm, down to the end of the sleeve.
This measurement can be taken with a jacket lying flat on a surface, but it is often easier as described above. |
 |
Half Chest
Laying the jacket flat, unfold the lapel and measure horizontally across all 3 panels, starting from the edge of the lapel to the back center seam, passing directly underneath the armhole.
It may not be easy to handle the tape measure while trying to hold the jacket flat for this measurement. If this is the case, measure the front, side and rear panel seperately, and then add them together.

Half Waist and Half Seat
6. Half Waist: Lay the jacket flat & measure from the front edge near the MIDDLE button (for 3 button jackets), to the back center seam, horizontally across all 3 panels. For 2 button jackets, measure horizontally near the top button.
7. Half Seat: Same as half waist, measure horizontally across all 3 panels, from front edge to back centre seam, approximately 3 inches below the top of the pocket. |
 |
Insleeve
8. Insleeve: With the jacket flat on a surface, measure from where the sleeve seam meets the armhole, along this seam to the end of the sleeve.
Do not pull the sleeve tight, however you want to make sure it is straight while measuring.

 |
Bicep
9. Bicep: Measure the width of the bicep area, level with the armhole, with the jacket flat on a surface. While holding the sleeve flat, start where the insleeve seam meets the armhole, and simply measure straight across the sleeve.
